Pool Water Care

Safe Crystal Clear Water – in 3 Easy Steps

Untreated pool and spa water is the perfect environment for the growth and proliferation of potentially dangerous bacteria and algae.

Fortunately, bacteria control is quite simple – as specialists, Pool Depot will prescribe exactly what your pool needs. The process starts with the addition of a sanitiser – usually chlorine – on a regular basis, and the regular filtration of all the water in the pool or spa to remove the dead bacteria and algae.

Our perfect pool WaterEarth program

You might encounter all sorts of conflicting information around telling you how to keep your pool sparkling clean and safe for your family. To help, Pool Depot has developed a simple 3-step program for pool water maintenance.

Step 1 – 24x7 Protection

First, fight bacteria with the regular addition of chlorine, whether by salt chlorination, tablet chlorination or liquid chlorination. Pool Depot will recommend the simplest and most economic choice for your pool.

Step 2 – Sparkling water

Even pools that are safe to swim in can sometimes take on a dull, flat look, usually as a result of non-filterable wastes. Some also contribute to the formation of chloramines which give off a distinctive chlorine smell. That’s when it’s time to add Focus Pool Shock or Ultra Shock – we recommend using it every two weeks in summer as Step 2 of your perfect pool WaterEarth program.

Step 3 – Prevent Algae

Now, lastly prevent algae infestation. With algae, prevention is much better than cure – it can be quite difficult to get rid of! We recommend the regular addition of a good quality long life algaecide every 3 months and removal of any phosphates that build up in your pool
